I have enjoyed the Flickr photo community for years. Although I left a couple of times, I always came back. I value the high-resolution images and the ability to see all the photos from the people I follow without an algorithm deciding what I see. More importantly, the photographers I follow on Flickr have inspired me.

Randy von Liski taught me to appreciate the beauty of architectural photography, mainly in the Midwest. He finds buildings and places that many of us might drive right past and gives them our attention. Randy is also thoughtful and generous in his comments. He hasn’t posted in some months, and I really miss his intellect, spirit and photographs.
Paul McCarthy shares engaging photos of Pittsburgh, my hometown, and its environs. Paul often photographs things I might simply walk or drive by. His work is a reminder that you don't have to go to exotic places to make engaging photographs.
©hristie by the River sees photography as “music for the eyes.” Her seascapes regularly inspire me. Her gorgeous images make me want to visit British Columbia.
Leanne Boulton is a street photographer in Glasgow whose high-contrast black-and-white photographs seem to reveal something of the people she photographs. As best I can tell, she does it all with one camera and one lens. Anyone who thinks you need a lot of equipment to make great photographs should spend some time with Leanne’s work—and then go out and make photographs.
